Annie Running

Hello there!
Thank you so much for visiting.

If, like me, feel-good fiction, fashion and fitness make you smile, then you’ve landed in the right spot.

I’ve happily combined my own passions in my debut novel Addressed and now the second book I’ve recently completed, The Runaways (coming soon!).

You know how slipping on a pretty new dress or sometimes into a pair of trainers to head out for a head-clearing run can immediately lift your spirits and change your mood for the better? …

Then I’d invite you to slip into the pages of my books and see how finding the perfect frock or hitting that running high transform the lives of a whole host of women just like us.

Happy reading, lovelies!

Meet the Author

Dearest reader,

I’m truly honoured that you’d like to meet me …

My professional background was as a journalist, communications consultant, public relations and media advisor, and speech writer, based in Hobart, Tasmania.

As you can probably glean from that pedigree, I just love to write!

In 2021, I altered course with the written word, turning my hand from my previous news stories, media releases and the like, to fiction.

If I could succinctly sum up what else drives me personally, I would use two more (nice!) ‘f’ words: fashion and fitness.

Fashion is the passion that underpinned my first book, Addressed.

I’ve always been a firm believer that you should ‘dress how you want to be addressed’, and that was the key premise of my novel too.

For me, that means frocking up in a pretty, vintage-inspired dress on most days. I just love how that can immediately boost both my spirits and confidence, and simply make me happy.

Another pursuit that makes me smile (most of the time!) is fitness, specifically running, with its many documented physical, mental and social benefits.

It’s perhaps no surprise that the second book I have recently finished writing has running central to its storyline.

I’ve personally completed many marathons and ultramarathons both within Australia and overseas (including London, Paris, Athens and Texas), with my most recent being Canberra Marathon in the nation’s capital (April 2024); the 63-kilometre ‘Gold Coast Double’ (a back-to-back half marathon and marathon) in Queensland in July 2023, as well as the challenging 100-kilometre ‘Surf Coast Century’ trail event in Victoria in 2022.

I live with my husband and a whole menagerie of native wildlife friends on eleven hectares in the bush, in the foothills of Hobart’s iconic kunanyi/Mount Wellington.

And when we’re not at our alpine haven, you can find us exploring the waterways and high seas in our floating home-away-from-home, our Alaska cruiser.
