A Bit of Mod on the Blog

Blog-29---Pic-5

It’s funny how you can veer quite radically between different ‘moods’ in fashion.

Looking back on some of the photos of my outfits in recent weeks, it’s easy to see that I’ve gravitated away from the fifties-style prom dresses of the spring-summer and towards a distinct sixties ‘Mod’ theme.

The Mod subculture began in London in the late fifties, before extending around the world throughout the sixties.

A signature style for the era, the Mod – or ‘London look’ – was bold and ‘out there’ for the time. It was particularly favoured among young people of the day, who wore the creative designs, bright colours and raised hemlines.

Mod continues to influence fashion today and has been especially prominent this autumn-winter season Down Under.

I’m loving it!
